The construction of the 3-cell reinforced concrete box culvert in Duqm, Oman was successfully completed within the approved project programme and contractual time duration. The scope of works included site clearance, excavation, foundation preparation, blinding concrete, reinforcement fixing, formwork installation, concrete casting for the base slab, walls and top slab, waterproofing, backfilling, compaction, and associated drainage works.
Despite the challenging climatic conditions and logistical constraints in the Duqm region, the project team effectively managed resources, maintained quality standards, and implemented strict health and safety procedures throughout the construction period. Close coordination among the client, consultant, and contractor ensured smooth progress and timely completion of all activities.
The culvert was completed in accordance with the approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, achieving all project milestones within the scheduled programme duration and enabling the subsequent roadworks to proceed without delay.
